Carlos van Staveren joins Bird & Bird as Counsel in IP team

International law firm Bird & Bird welcomes Carlos van Staveren, who joins the Dutch Intellectual Property team as Counsel on 1 May.

Carlos joins Bird & Bird from De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek where he was a senior associate in the IP practice. Carlos’ arrival comes as part of the strategic expansion of our Dutch IP team and the growth of the Amsterdam team in which he brings a wealth of experience in advising clients on complex international IP disputes. Carlos is a highly experienced IP litigator, focusing on high stakes patent-related matters before national courts as well as the European Patent Office. He was involved in numerous landmark patent proceedings. In addition to his litigation work, he is also experienced in advisory work. Carlos was recently recognized as a Rising Star in IP | Patents in the Netherlands by Legal 500 2023.
