As a traditional hanseatic city and cosmopolitan metropolis, Hamburg offers the ideal setting for this year’s conference. The GRUR Regional Group North is therefore particularly pleased to welcome you back to the hanseatic city, following our conferences in 2010 and 2017. In addition to a top-notch professional programme, we would like to give you the opportunity once again to experience Hamburg in all its varieties at the city’s most beautiful locations.
The conference venue will be the Grand Elysée Hamburg, located near the Alster. Our joint welcome evening will be held on Wednesday evening, offering an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and make new contacts.
On Thursday, the reception of lawyers and patent attorneys will take place at the restaurant “am kai.” Located directly by the Elbe River and overlooking the port of Hamburg, this special venue combines Hanseatic charm with a modern ambiance, creating the perfect setting for inspiring conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.
The closing evening on Friday will offer a special highlight: At the Hanse Lounge near Rathausmarkt, we will gather for a festive evening overlooking the historic heart of the city. The unique atmosphere of the Hanse Lounge provides the ideal setting for a memorable conclusion for our joint time in Hamburg.
Of course, a visit to the Elbphilharmonie is a must, as it has become a world-famous landmark of the city. Similarly, Alster and harbor cruises offer a chance to get to know Hamburg from a different perspective and to experience the special atmosphere of the hanseatic city from the water. Art and culture enthusiasts will find opportunities to explore some of the city’s most significant cultural institutions at the Bucerius Kunst Forum, the Hamburger Kunsthalle, and the Port des Lumières.
In light of the profound technological developments of our time, Europa Bendig will use her lecture to shed light on the use of artificial intelligence and its impact on society, thereby providing valuable food for thought.
The conference will conclude on Saturday with a trip to Lüneburg. This historic salt-trading and Hanseatic city, with its impressively well-preserved old town, blends North German history with a vibrant present and offers a beautiful setting to round off our time together. Right after our conference, Hamburg will also host the AIPPI World Congress 2026. For many international guests and those working in the field of intellectual property law, this presents a unique opportunity to combine both events and plan a longer stay in the hanseatic city. So this autumn, Hamburg will indeed become an international meeting place for discussions on intellectual property law.
